These Terms govern the contracting and management of domain names through miHosting.com and are supplementary to the general Terms of Service.
1. Definitions and roles
- Customer / Registrant: the individual or legal entity requesting domain registration or management.
- Registrar: entity accredited to register domains with the relevant registry.
- Registry: the organisation responsible for managing a TLD extension.
- Administrative contact: the person authorised to manage the domain on behalf of the registrant.
- Auth-Code (EPP key / TAC): authorisation code required for transfers between registrars.
- EPP status code: code describing the domain's current state under the EPP protocol.
miHosting.com may act as a direct registrar or as a reseller of third-party registrars depending on the TLD.
2. Scope of service and limitations
The service covers intermediation with the registry for the registration, renewal, transfer or modification of domains. miHosting does not guarantee domain allocation until the registry confirms it. Some names may be premium, reserved or subject to TLD-specific eligibility requirements.
3. Registrant data, verification and privacy
The Customer must provide accurate, complete and current information. Failure to verify within the indicated period may result in suspension or cancellation. Data is published in RDAP/WHOIS in accordance with each registry's applicable policies.
4. Domain lifecycle: registration, renewal and expiry
The initial registration period ranges from 1 to 10 years depending on the TLD. Renewal reminders sent by miHosting are for informational purposes only. The Customer is solely responsible for verifying that renewal has completed within 10 calendar days of expiry. Beyond that period, miHosting bears no liability for domain loss.
5. Registrar transfers
Inbound transfers require the Auth-Code/TAC and an unlocked domain. miHosting will not improperly block outbound transfers. Registries may reject transfers due to non-payment or the post-registration lock period (first 60 days after registration).
6. Registrant and contact changes
Substantive registrant changes require verification by both parties and may trigger a temporary transfer lock on the domain in accordance with TLD policy and ICANN rules.
7. DNS, nameservers and DNSSEC
The Customer may use miHosting's nameservers or third-party nameservers. DNS propagation may take up to 48 hours. Management of DNSSEC keys is the Customer's sole responsibility.
8. Domain content and use
Domains must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy and applicable law. miHosting may suspend domains used for phishing, malware, spam or intellectual property violations.
9. Disputes and third-party rights
The Customer accepts applicable dispute resolution procedures, including ICANN's UDRP and URS, and any registry-specific procedures.
10. Pricing, payments and refunds
Prices vary by TLD. Premium domains may carry higher fees; the displayed price may not be accurate at the time of contracting. Domain registrations are non-refundable once processed with the Registry, except for errors attributable to miHosting that are not remedied. In the event of a chargeback, suspected fraud or non-payment, miHosting may suspend linked services or temporarily withhold the Auth-Code/TAC.
11. Communications and notices
Communications are sent to the email address registered in the Client Area. Notices published in the Control Panel are considered notified from the moment of publication. Expiry notices are for informational purposes only; the Customer is responsible for verifying the status of their domains. It is recommended to maintain an operational email address that does not depend on the registered domain itself.
12. Cancellation and deletion
Cancellation by the registrant generally results in permanent loss with no refund. Cancelled domains may become available to third parties after the registry's grace periods. miHosting may cancel for non-payment or policy violations.
13. Sanctions, export controls and compliance
The Customer declares they are not subject to international sanctions and undertakes not to use domains for activities prohibited under sanctions legislation or export control regulations.
14. Liability and limitation of liability
miHosting exercises reasonable professional diligence but does not guarantee name availability or processing timeframes. Liability is limited to the amount paid for the affected transaction. miHosting is not liable for indirect damages or loss of profits.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Spanish law. Any disputes shall be submitted to the courts and tribunals of Madrid, unless mandatory registry policies provide otherwise.
16. Amendments to these Terms
These Terms may be updated for legal, technical or registry policy reasons, with reasonable advance notice.
Annex A — Typical lifecycle states and timeframes (indicative)
- Active/OK: domain operational.
- Auto-Renew Grace: approximately 0–45 days after expiry (varies by TLD); the domain typically remains resolvable or parked. Automatic renewal may be reversed if cancelled promptly.
- Redemption Period: approximately 30 days; the domain has been deleted at the Registry level but can be recovered with a registry restoration fee plus renewal.
- Pending Delete: approximately 5 days; imminent deletion, non-recoverable.
Exact timeframes and the availability of each phase depend exclusively on the registry of the corresponding TLD.
Annex B — Recommended best practices
- Keep the transfer lock enabled at all times, except when initiating a transfer.
- Use an external email address (not hosted on the domain itself) for critical notices.
- Enable DNSSEC if supported by the TLD.
- Renew your domain well in advance of the expiry date and check your payment method.
- Keep your contact information always up to date.
