Your files, your cloud,
your rules.
Not Google's.
Online hard drive, S3-compatible object storage and managed Nextcloud. Choose the way of storing that your project needs, on European servers, with real technicians behind it.

Does this sound familiar?
You trust third parties with your data less and less
- You keep company files on Google Drive or Dropbox without really knowing which server, or which country, they're actually hosted in.
- Your application needs object storage, but Amazon S3 surprises you every month with the egress traffic bill.
- You're looking for a Google Drive alternative for your team, but setting up and maintaining your own Nextcloud server feels daunting.
- You need more space for backups or large files, without depending on physical hardware that can fail at any time.
There's a way to solve it
Three cloud storage services on European servers, each built for a different job — with a technical team behind them that sets it up, maintains it and responds when you need it.
Which one do you need?
Three ways to store data, each for a different job
These aren't tiers of the same product: they're three different services. Choose by use case, not by price.

If you need to upload and download files or schedule backups, start with the online hard drive. If your team needs to share and collaborate like on Google Drive, Nextcloud is your option. If it's your application or your script that's going to use it, not a person, you need S3 object storage.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before you sign up
What's the difference between online hard drive, S3 object storage and Nextcloud?
They're three different ways to store data in the cloud. The online hard drive is a remote disk you mount as a network drive or use over FTP/SFTP — ideal for backups and large files. S3 object storage is built for your application to use through an API, not a person. Nextcloud is a full platform with a web interface, mobile apps and team collaboration — the replacement for Google Drive or Dropbox.
Is the object storage compatible with Amazon S3?
Yes. It implements the Amazon S3 API, so you can use the same tools and SDKs you'd use with AWS: boto3, rclone, AWS CLI, Cyberduck and most S3-speaking libraries without changing code.
Where is my data physically stored?
In European data centers (Germany and Finland), on Hetzner infrastructure. No data leaves the European Union, and we're GDPR compliant with no transfers to third countries.
Can I use this to back up my servers?
Yes, all three services can do it, though in different ways. The online hard drive supports BorgBackup and rsync for scheduled copies; S3 object storage is the usual choice if your backup software already speaks the S3 protocol (Duplicati, Veeam, restic...).
Can I contract several of these services at once?
Yes, they're not mutually exclusive. It's common, for example, to use Nextcloud for your team's daily work and a separate online hard drive just for automated backups, all on the same invoice.
What happens if I run out of space?
You upgrade your plan whenever you need to, with no data loss or downtime. For the online hard drive and Nextcloud you move up a tier; for object storage you simply pay for what you use above the included amount that month.
Is there a minimum term or cancellation penalty?
No. All three services are billed monthly and you can cancel whenever you want, with no minimum term or penalty.
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit and debit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, bank transfer and Bitcoin. All transactions are encrypted with 256-bit SSL. See all payment methods →

Stop depending on Google, Dropbox or Amazon

miHosting's cloud storage for business brings together three different services on the same European infrastructure: an online hard drive for backups and large files, S3-compatible object storage for your application to use, and a managed Nextcloud for your team to collaborate like they would on Google Drive.
Unlike depending on Google, Dropbox or Amazon, your data stays in data centers in Germany and Finland, with guaranteed GDPR compliance and no transfers to third countries. The S3 object storage is fully compatible with the tools you'd already use with AWS — boto3, rclone, AWS CLI — so integrating it doesn't mean rewriting your application.
If you're looking for a Google Drive alternative for your business, Nextcloud gives you unlimited users, calendar, contacts and collaboration apps, all managed by our technical team: we install, update and maintain the server; you just use it.
All three services are billed monthly, with no minimum term, and you can combine them — for example, Nextcloud for everyday work and a separate online hard drive just for automated backups.
