Your name, your address
and your phone.
Off the public WHOIS.
Every domain you register publishes your contact details in a public database anyone can look up in seconds. WHOIS privacy replaces them with a protection proxy's details — activated by hand by a real technician, not an automated process.

Sound familiar?
Your personal data, one click away from anyone
- Anyone can type your domain into a WHOIS lookup tool and see your full name, postal address and phone number.
- You start getting sales calls and spam emails within days of registering the domain.
- A competitor can check exactly when you registered your domain and how many years you've been renewing it.
- Your personal data is exposed to social engineering or impersonation attempts.
There's a way to fix it
With WHOIS privacy, your contact details are replaced with those of a protection proxy. You remain the legal owner of the domain — your personal information just stops being published.
One price, no surprises
$18/year. No fine print.
No "free the first year, then it goes up." The price you see is the price you pay, every year.
Identity protection
Add-on for domains registered with miHosting
- ✓Hides name, address, phone and email from the public WHOIS
- ✓Activated by hand by a real technician, not an automated process
- ✓Email confirmation as soon as it's active
- ✓You remain the legal owner of the domain
Not sure if your extension supports it?
Not every extension allows hiding the registrant's data — for example, .es domains don't support it with any provider. Ask us before requesting it and we'll confirm whether your domain qualifies.

Reasons not to leave your data exposed
Avoid spam and sales calls
Bots and salespeople scan WHOIS databases for new contacts. Hiding your data cuts off that source of spam from day one.
Protect your home address
If you registered your domain as a freelancer or sole trader, your personal address is probably published. WHOIS privacy hides it.
Reduce impersonation risk
Less public personal data means less room for social engineering or identity impersonation attempts.
Hide your strategy from competitors
Registration date, renewals and ownership stop being one click away for anyone who wants to snoop.
Activated by a person, not a bot
A technician on our domains team checks your extension and activates protection by hand, with fewer errors on restricted TLDs.
Email confirmation
You'll know exactly when the protection goes live, no guessing or checking blindly yourself.
What's the difference?
How other registrars do it
| Aspect | Other registrars | miHosting |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | Free the first year, then it goes up (Arsys), or free only on certain extensions (Namecheap, IONOS) | Fixed price from year one: $18/year, no changes |
| Activation | Automatic — sometimes fails on restricted extensions | Activated by hand by a technician and confirmed by email |
| If something goes wrong | Generic support ticket or chatbot | You talk directly to the person who activated your protection |
| Requirement | Varies by registrar | Domain registered with miHosting |
Reference prices checked on each registrar's public website (2026): Nominalia €8.30/year, Arsys €9.90/year from the second year on, GoDaddy $10–15/year. Namecheap and IONOS include the protection at no cost on the extensions they manage directly.

Perfect if…
- You registered your domain with your personal address or phone
- You're a freelancer or sole trader and don't want to expose your contact details
- You're concerned about spam, sales calls or automated scraping
- You'd rather competitors not see when you registered your domain

Everything you need to know before requesting it
What exactly is WHOIS privacy?
Every registered domain publishes the owner's name, postal address, phone and email in a public database (the WHOIS). WHOIS privacy replaces those details with the details of a protection proxy, so anyone looking up your domain doesn't see your personal information.
How much does WHOIS privacy cost?
$18/year. It's an add-on on top of your domain registration — it's not included by default.
How do I request it?
Message us on WhatsApp or through the contact form with the domain you want to protect. There's no automatic checkout — it's activated by a technician on our domains team.
How long does activation take?
Usually a few minutes. We email you as soon as the protection is active, and you can verify it yourself with any WHOIS lookup tool.
Does it work on every domain extension?
No. It depends on each extension's registry. For example, .es domains don't support WHOIS privacy with any provider, because Red.es doesn't allow hiding the registrant's data. Check with us about your extension before requesting it.
Does my domain need to be registered with miHosting?
Yes, that's the basic requirement. WHOIS privacy is only activated on domains we manage. If your domain is with another provider, you'd need to transfer it first.
Am I still the legal owner of the domain?
Yes. WHOIS privacy only hides your contact details in public lookups. Ownership, control and rights over the domain stay entirely yours at all times.
What happens if I don't activate it?
Nothing happens to the domain itself, but your name, address, phone and email stay visible to anyone who runs a WHOIS lookup — including spam bots, automated scraping and curious competitors.

Don't let your WHOIS be anyone's way in
Your name, address and phone don't have to be one click away from anyone. Request it and we'll activate it in minutes.
WHOIS privacy is an add-on service that protects your identity when you register a domain. By default, every domain publishes the registrant's name, postal address, phone and email in the public WHOIS record — data anyone can look up with a simple search. With miHosting's domain privacy, those details are replaced with a protection proxy's, so your personal information stops being exposed.
The service costs $18/year and is only available for domains registered with miHosting. Unlike an automated checkout, it's activated by hand by a technician on our domains team: we first confirm whether your extension supports hiding WHOIS data — some, like .es, don't allow it with any provider due to Red.es regulations — and email you as soon as the protection is active, usually within minutes.
Activating WHOIS privacy doesn't affect your ownership of the domain: you remain the legal registrant at all times, only your contact details stop being published. It's the most direct way to avoid the spam, sales calls and automated scraping that tends to start within days of registering a new domain. If you don't have a domain yet, you can search and register your domain and combine it with professional hosting from the same provider.
