Is this WHOIS lookup tool free?
Yes, completely free with no strict usage limit. No sign-up or personal data required to look up a domain.
Why don't some domains show the owner's name?
Many registrars hide personal owner data (name, address, phone) by default to comply with GDPR, or because the owner has WHOIS privacy enabled. In those cases you'll see the details of a protection proxy instead of the real owner.
Does it work for every domain extension?
For the vast majority, yes (.com, .net, .org, .es, .io, .dev...). A few specific ccTLDs don't run a public WHOIS server and only publish their data through their national registry's own website — we'll let you know when that happens.
Do you store the domains I search for?
No. The lookup is performed live against the matching WHOIS server, and we don't store the domain you searched or the result.
The domain I searched shows as "available" — can I register it now?
If WHOIS returns no record, the domain is generally free. You can check and register it straight away from our domain search tool.
How do I hide my own data from public WHOIS?
