My Domain Expired: Can I Register It Again?
Just because a domain has expired doesn't mean you can register it again right away. Find out why and what to do next.
The fact that a domain has expired doesn’t mean you can register it again right away.
Some registrars may decide to put the domain up for auction or simply hold onto it for a while.
In general, after the expiration date or the domain’s expiration period, it will become available after about 30–45 days. However, this timeframe is not fixed; it may be longer or shorter depending on the policy of each registrar.
You may still be in time to renew it
This is the first thing you should check. Your domain may have expired, but you might still be able to renew it. Never let a domain expire with the intention of re-registering it. This is a serious mistake that could cost you your domain and all the work and money you’ve invested in it.
