Welcome to mi hosting. Today we want to look at how to install WordPress on your website. So let’s get to it.
First things first, you have WordPress. For those of you arriving here for the first time, you’re at mi hosting, one of the web hosting companies you can find on the internet. And it’s perhaps the most important program used to build applications, to build websites. Basically, for developing the look of a website. WordPress is easy to install, it’s fast, it’s very secure, and it’s very easy for anyone to use. So today we’ll see how to install it.
We’ll use our control panel, the control panel that all mi hosting dot net clients have. We’ll also use the Softaculous auto-installation tool, which is included inside all the control panels we offer with our shared hosting service. I invite you now to come to the computer, where we can see step by step how to install WordPress on your domain.
Alright, we’re in the control panel of backup dot com, one of the domains that belongs to mi hosting. What we want to do is install it.
These are all the options available to clients, and what we want is to install WordPress, as you can see here in the Softaculous tool. Immediately, since it’s the most important and most-used application, it’s WordPress. We click here, go into the control panel in the auto-installation area. And here we have the option, with plenty of information about the program, and the Install Now button.
What we do is choose the type of installation. We’ll do it under HTTP, www. If we had a security certificate, we could use any of these options. Since backup dot com has a security certificate, we’ll install it here. The domain is this one. If we had more, it would let us choose. The domain we want, and we’ll install it in the wp folder, since in the root folder… otherwise, if we wanted, we’d put it here, like this. But we want to install it in the wp folder. Here we click Install.
We give it a title and, in the site description, we’d choose a username. It’s always recommended to use one other than admin. We’d put the username and a password. A good option is this one. The thing is, you’d need to copy it to use it later, but we’d use a text editor like this one, save the password so we don’t forget it, and then enter the email address. In this case it would be info@backup dot com. We’d choose the language. We’ll continue to install.
In a few moments, the bar completes and we have, on one hand, the installed service, and on the other, the administration section. Here it gives us immediate access, but if we enter the username details we set, the key and the password we had, we’re immediately in the installation area.
And that’s it. We now have our WordPress installed in minutes. Question of the day: What program do you use to build your website? Are you using WordPress, are you using Joomla, are you using Magento, PrestaShop? Which program do you use?
I also want to remind you of something important. The auto-installation service is included free of charge in all of our hosting plans. If you’re not yet a mi hosting client, I encourage you to visit our website and see whether any of our plans fit your needs. If they don’t, send us a message or call us. We’re delighted to help you.
