🛡️ CageFS: Isolated security for your account
CageFS is a security technology included in our hosting plans, based on a virtual file system. Its main purpose is to isolate your account from the rest of the server, so that only you can access your information and files.
It’s like having a private capsule within the server, completely protected from all other users.
✅ What benefits does CageFS offer?
With CageFS, you get a number of key advantages for the security of your website:
- Total account isolation
- Only you can view and manage your files.
- You can’t access the server’s settings or other accounts’ data, and they can’t see yours either.
- Protection against common attacks
- It blocks unauthorized access at the system level.
- It prevents symbolic link (symlink) attacks, commonly used to compromise other accounts.
- Restricted system access
- It limits access to critical directories such as
/proc. - It only allows safe commands and programs to be executed.
- Enhanced privacy
- All your personal information, emails, and databases are safe, even if other users share the same server.

🔐 Please note
CageFS is one of the technologies we use at mihosting.com to guarantee a more secure, private, and reliable hosting environment. While you don’t need to do anything to activate it, it’s working silently in the background to protect your website every day.
